wayside shrineAs local Schoenstatt movements pray and gather resources to build a replica Shrine, often a Wayside Shrine is created. In the case of San Antonio, we created the “Schoenstatt Fountain of Family Unity Wayside Shrine”

This small chapel centrally located in San Antonio at 302 Ave Maria Street. It has has been open daily for private prayer and meditation since its dedication in 1990 by Archbishop Patrick Flores.

Pilgrims from throughout the city and beyond visit this holy, peaceful place of grace.  Here, as in all Marian shrines, one feels at home with the Mother of God who intercedes to Jesus for our intentions.  You are welcome to visit the Wayside Shrine any day of the week.  It is open daily from 9:00 AM to 8 PM.

Eucharistic Adoration is held every first Tuesday of the month from 7:00 PM-9:00 PM. Jesus longs to be united with us in the most intimate way by being present to us in Eucharistic Adoration.  He waits for us to respond to His love.  We invite you to join our Schoenstatt family in our visit with Him for one or two hours on each first Tuesday.

religious centerThe Schoenstatt Religious Center is located on the same beautiful 52-acre Mount
Schoenstatt site that includes the “Cor Unum in Patre” Shrine.

It is located just four miles outside of the city limits of San Antonio off the historic Scenic Loop. It has a meadow, wooded acreage and a hill with beautiful vistas. The Center accommodates 120 persons for Mass, workshops, days of reflection, devotions and other religious services and activities of the lay movement. It has a chapel room, meeting room, and sacristy/office. The gazebo in the meadow is a place for meditation, rest and to enjoy the
beautiful natural surroundings.

The property was a gift received in 1996 from a most generous benefactor. The name and mission of the shrine is Cor Unum In Patre (One Heart in the Father). It was dedicated on October 18, 2008 by Archbishop Jose Gomez.

The Shrine is open daily. A rosary garden with walking path has been developed across from the Shrine.  Stations of the Cross have been installed beginning at the same elevation as the Shrine and continuing to the top of the hill.
