Year of Faith Event

Year of Faith Event

You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in you. St. Augustine

The Schoenstatt Movement is sponsoring a Year of Faith Event to give thanks for the graces of this special year and for the gift of our own personal story of faith.   A Movie and Dinner Night will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2013 featuring the movie, Restless Heart, the Confessions of Augustine, in English with Spanish subtitles.  It is the story of three saints and two doctors of the Church -- St. Augustine, St. Monica and St. Ambrose.  Restless Heart is the first full-length feature movie on St. Augustine, one of the Catholic Church’s most beloved and well-known saints.  Its message is still timely today, of one who pursues fame and fortune without a moral compass and the changes that occur when events lead him to see the light – to conversion.

Mark your calendar to join the Schoenstatt Family on July 27th from 5:00 – 8:30 pm at Mount Schoenstatt, 17071 Low Road, Helotes, TX.  Bring family and friends!  Come enjoy a steak burger dinner to be grilled on-site with potato salad and drink included.  The tickets for both dinner and movie are $18 for adults and $9 for children 12 and under.  Tickets by pre-sale so get yours now!  Call 490-4367, 736-0809 or 695-1400.

Need more convincing, read on --  Pope Benedict XVI:  “We hope that many who watch this inspiring human drama will allow themselves to be found by the Truth and in return also find Love.”

RestlessHeart2The Catholic Fire Blog “Movie Review” -- Jean M. Heimann writes:  Restless Heart was a joy and a pleasure to watch, as it is a soul-stirring story which conveys the beauty of truth in a commanding way via scripture passages, poignant lines from Augustine’s Confessions, meaningful dialogue and exceptional acting.  Overall, this is a top quality film which I highly recommend.  I predict that it will become a spiritual classic and be loved by audiences for many years to come.

The words of St. Augustine, “our hearts are restless until they rest in you” were an inspiration in discovering the name and mission of our beautiful shrine, the Cor Unum in Patre (One Heart in the Father) Schoenstatt Shrine.
