Visit to the Shrine in Thanksgiving

We extend an invitation to visit the Schoenstatt Shrine on Sunday, September 22, 2013, during the hours of 9 am – 5:30 pm, to give thanks for the formal transfer of the Original Shrine in Schoenstatt, Germany from the Pallottine Fathers Community to the Schoenstatt Movement.  This wonderful surprise from God, as our Family journeys to our Centennial in 2014, was announced on May 22, 2013.  We thank the Pallottine Fathers for this great gift and pray for their community and their work.  Covenant Day blessings to all.

Vatican City, 1 September 2012 (VIS)

Pope Francis: “On 7 September, in Saint Peter’s Square, here, from 7 p.m. until 12 a.m. we will gather in prayer and in a spirit of penance, invoking God’sgreat gift of peace upon the beloved nation of Syria and upon each situation of conflict and violence around the world. Humanity needs to see these gestures of peace and to hear words of hope and peace! I ask all the local churches, in addition to fasting, that they gather to pray for this intention. “Let us ask Mary to help us to respond to violence, to conflict and to war, with the power of dialogue, reconciliation and love. She is our mother: may she help us to find peace; all of us are her children! Help us, Mary, to overcome this most difficult moment and to dedicate ourselves each day to building in every situation an authentic culture of encounter and peace. Mary, Queen of Peace, pray for us!”

Year of Faith Event

You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in you. St. Augustine

The Schoenstatt Movement is sponsoring a Year of Faith Event to give thanks for the graces of this special year and for the gift of our own personal story of faith.   A Movie and Dinner Night will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2013 featuring the movie, Restless Heart, the Confessions of Augustine, in English with Spanish subtitles.  It is the story of three saints and two doctors of the Church -- St. Augustine, St. Monica and St. Ambrose.  Restless Heart is the first full-length feature movie on St. Augustine, one of the Catholic Church’s most beloved and well-known saints.  Its message is still timely today, of one who pursues fame and fortune without a moral compass and the changes that occur when events lead him to see the light – to conversion.
